Zimride – How often do you drive a car or see one passing on the freeway with all seats packed with passengers? Chances are, you observe more cars with a driver with one or two passengers than compact cars or even SUVs packed with people. Carpool isn’t a new idea but Zimride gives it a whole new meaning. It offers a simple way to find friends, classmates and coworkers going the same way you are. This way you could save some cash on fuel and get to where you need faster. How does it work? Simple: enter your starting point and destination and Zimride will provide you with a list of people with similar preferences who are offering a ride or looking to join others. Find a carpool buddy and get the added bonus of contribution to the environment! Concerned about privacy and safety? You should be! But Zimride apparently has got you covered, as it claims to offer a personality check based on its facebook collaboration. Check out the ABC report below for a better understanding of how it works.
