Well folks it’s back, and it’s bigger than ever (or so NBC will be telling you prior to the Super Bowl returning to the network this year!). The New England Patriots take on bitter rivals New York Giants in a mouthwatering clash that gives the Pats a chance to take revenge for defeat to the Giants in 2008′s Super Bowl. Our contribution at AllMyFaves is to provide you with the best sites you’re going to need to make this a great Super Bowl experience… and here they are:

1. The Site for the Football Beginner:

A good starting point for football novices and hardcore fans alike. The NFL Official Website is easy to navigate around, great looking, and packed full of news, pre-game coverage, schedules, stats, team pages, fantasy drafts and much more.

I couldn’t pick just one blog here, because there’s too many great choices. But here’s three that really stand out for interesting content: 1. Grantland – long articles, in-depth analysis, with a touch of humor 2. The Fifth Down – comprehensive, covers interesting stories, but then it is the NY Times NFL Blog so it delivers where we’d expect it to! 3. Foodpairing – Discover a World of New Flavour Combinations!

Food Pairing – Chocolate & Chili: Yay or nay? It would appear the great chefs of the world are bored with the usual food combinations we’ve come to expect (fish ‘n’ chips anyone?). They’re exploring ways to make our culinary experiences more interesting, diverse and tasty; pairing foods, ingredients and flavors that we never knew could go together. And FoodPairing is at the forefront of this tasty trend.

Food Pairing is a great looking, interactive website created lovingly by the chefs and food scientists at research company ‘Sense for Taste’. It generates a dynamic ‘FoodPairing Tree’ for any ingredient, with all the possible flavor combinations that would go well with that ingredient circling around it. The closer another ingredient is to it in the tree, the better the combination will taste! Below is a tree for cucumber. You can see that Beijing roast duck goes slightly better with cucumber than country ham, because it’s positioned closer to the center, but they would both still work as flavor combinations! It’s currently being used by more than 200,000 professional chefs, food enthusiasts and mixologists per year, so if it’s good enough for them, imagine how impressive you’re going to look with your imaginative recipes at your next dinner party! Dogs in Cars – The Pawsome Viral Video Hit by Keith Hopkin!

Dogs in Cars is an utterly charming 5 minute video created by the rather talented Keith Hopkin, starring Man’s very own best friend. It’s a beautifully shot slow motion video of a group of amazingly expressive dogs taking rides in cars, with a perfect accompanying song by promising Australian band ‘The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’. I watched it and couldn’t help but smile, and I’m not even particularly a “dog person”.

Trip Around the Globe is one of the most innovative, fun free flash trivia games I’ve played on the internet in a long time! If you’re into your geographically related general knowledge quizzes, you’ll definitely agree.

Travel Around the World (literally!) with this fun Trivia game

You control a little red car with the arrows on your keyboard, driving it over a big rotating globe. When you drive through a question mark icon you answer a question (“Where did Napoleon die?” for example); and then if you get it correct, have to drive as quickly as possible to the country related to the answer of that question (so in this case, you would have to drive your car to France!).

It’s timed, and you just get through as many questions and countries as you can before it runs out. There’s a leaderboard to see how you’ve fared against the rest of the world too. Click on the pics, or here, to see how well you can do! Post your scores below, and see if you do better than me!

Thanks to Apple’s latest era-defining technology, iTunesU, you can access all the materials for an entire college course in one free app; and even link it up with your computer for complete synergy. With textbooks, quizzes, reading lists, video and audio lectures, assignments and more, this really could be an educational revolution! It will require more educators at schools, universities and colleges to streamline their courses and classes onto the app. But if you’re at college and you have an iPhone (or even better, an iPad), and your teacher has already picked up on this, you’re one very lucky student!
